Arango Cigar Co. Introduces Balkan Supreme Pipe Tobacco

Tobacco distributor Arango Cigar Co. has introduced a new pipe tobacco blend, Balkan Supreme. This mixture is made exclusively for Arango by Peter Stokkebye International, a leading Danish manufacturer of premium tobacco products such as Orlik and Skandinavik.

According to Michael Gold, Arango's president, "Many experienced and uncompromising pipe smokers favor the 'Balkan mixture.' Arango's new Balkan Supreme fills this growing market with a blend of select tobaccos, crafted by an internationally respected tobacco firm with a 120-year history of consistent excellence."

The classic flavor and aroma of Balkan blends fall within the full-bodied family of tobaccos. Balkan Supreme uses no flavoring in its blend, is loose cut, and contains a generous amount of Latakia. Some of the finest Orientals and old belt Virginias are also mixed into this tobacco. Balkan Supreme's traditional English blend is finished off with Black Cavendish and Turkish Samsun. The mixture produces a variety of distinctive flavors, and is best smoked with no other blending. Currently available in 5-lb. bags, Balkan Supreme will soon be offered in 2-lb. bags, as well. Wholesale cost from Arango Cigar is competitive.

Monjure Named Robert Lewis Distributor

Robert Lewis, the longest established tobacco merchant in London and one of the oldest in the world, has traditionally only sold its tobaccos from its shop, founded in 1787. But now Monjure International USA, Jamestown, N.C., is distributing the company's Robert Lewis Special Tobacco Blends in the U.S.

"The wonderful mixtures are the finest available and are expertly blended from only the very best tobaccos," says company president Stephen Monjure.

Orcilla Mixture is a classic Oriental blend made from the finest tobaccos available, and has been a favorite of discerning smokers; Wingfield Mixture, a mixture of fine Virginias, has been carefully blended with sun cured and dark leaf; Tree Mixture, a fine Latakia mixture expertly blended originally as a "private blend" for a frequent customer; and Robert Lewis 123, an "incredible blend" containing superfine Havana seed leaf with the taste and aroma of a fine Cuban cigar. Each blend is packed in 50 gm tins, $11 retail.
