Pyramid Revives Havana Sunrise
Through a collaborative effort, the Havana Sunrise, a cigar originally produced in Little Havana in Miami, Florida, is being reintroduced by Pyramid Cigar Company. Carlos Beltran, president of Pyramid and founder the Havana Sunrise, and Agusto Reyes, president of De Los Reyes Cigar in the Dominican Republic and exclusive manufacturer of Pyramid's Havana Sunrise, Sunrise Reserve, and Sunrise Classic brands, worked together to revive the Havana Sunrise. The two reached an agreement with tobacco supplier Sabino De La Portilla, owner of Pure Leaf Tobacco, who supplied the leaf tobacco for the original Havana Sunrise. Pyramid has undertaken a price restructuring and marketing campaign intended to please both old and new fans of the Sunrise brands.

Bio-Filter Advanced Cigarettes from Kretek International
The Bio-Filter is a new line of cigarettes imported from Greece that uses a three-stage filtration system containing activated (charged) charcoal to target various carcinogens present in cigarette smoke.

California-based Kretek International, the cigarette's U.S. importer, has an exclusive patent on the Bio-Filter system, and will produce the cigarettes in full flavor, lights, super-lights, and ultra versions. By using the new filtration system along with a blend of American tobaccos, Kretek hopes to provide the benefit of reduced tar and nicotine without compromising taste.

Kretek is also making a new entry into the value-priced cigarette market with its new Premium One line. With regular, lights, and menthol styles already available, and 100 mm and ultra-lights on the way, Premium One will have special introductory tier pricing as low as $6.25 per carton.
